The founder of MLRM practised as an admitted attorney in both the private and public sectors since 1988. MLRM has served as consultant to various health care, managed care and ICT companies in the USA, SA, Middle East, the UK and Europe. He also initiated an international demand management and health care decision counselling company that has operated in the UK and Europe since 1997 and was chairman of the company until his resignation in 2000.
As an attorney, he managed medico-legal matters for the Surgeon- General of South Africa during the late eighties/early nineties. The founder of MLRM also practiced as an attorney, representing the Medical Protection Society in South Africa (Head Office in London, UK).
After he completed the Certificate in Productivity Management (cum laude) he was invited to follow the project in Advanced Medical Law in Ghent, Belgium. This he completed with Highest Honours. Here he also worked with senior members involved with the European Community (EC) in Brussels and the World Health Organisation (WHO) in Geneva. In Europe he also lectured in Medical Law. He was (until his move to Sanlam Head Office in Cape Town in May 1996) also a member of the Policy and Legislation Committee for the Restructuring of Health Services (greater Pretoria sub-structure), and the Committee for Medical Ethics and Legal Affairs of the Medical Association of South Africa. He was also a member of the Medical Ethics Education Sub-Committee (MEES) of South Africa.
MLRM has added great value in his field of specialisation over the years and still continues to do so. MLRM thoroughly enjoys this 'niche' and mentions that international exposure continually acts as a solid framework from which to evaluate the business of clients. This enables us to give sound and sustainable business advice, services, added value and support.
